A Rare Early 18th Century American Oak, Ash & Maple Turned Armchair, Circa 1700. The shaped cresting rail carved with later inscription ANNA ELISA GROTHMANS below date 1801 flanked by carved tulips either side of a heart. The back composed of ball turned spindles between turned uprights surmounted by bold double ball knopped finials. The plank seat in a pole turned frame on turned legs united by stretchers, (113 cm) high, (61 cm) wide, (41 cm) deep.
