Description
A Pair of 19th Century Porcelain Figures after 18th Century Derby models of Welsh Tailor and his Wife. The figures decorated in polychrome enamels and depicted riding on the backs of goats: the woman with a child at her breast and two other in a basket on her back. The tailor wearing an elaborately decorated frock coat and tricorn hat with two kids in a basket on his back. The grassy bases with moulded scrolling gilt crests to the front, having Derby style marks to the underside, 4¾” (12 cm) and 5” (13 cm) high. (AF)
