Description
A Large & Unusual Late 17th/Early 18th Century Joined Oak Wainscot Chair attributed to Lancashire. The broad fielded panel back beneath a pierced and scroll crested top rail with run moulded channels flanked by plain uprights surmounted by pyramidal finials. The silhouette cut scroll end plank arms incised with twin lines leading down the top edge and raised on baluster turned posts leading to a plank seat above a lip-moulded drawer with brass swing handle. The baluster legs united by peripheral stretchers and terminating on turned feet, 52¾” (134 cm) high, 23” (58.5 cm) wide.*
