The square case having a tall domed pediment surmounted by a classical female figure clasping a serpent with a reclining beast at her feet, her robes enriched with turquoise and blue enamel. The dome and side panels polychrome painted in intricate detail with allegorical scenes and set in an ornately cast silver metal case on paw feet. Replaced movement, champleve enamelled dial lacking hands. 9½” (24 cm) high.
