A 19th Century American Louis XV Style Mantel Clock by Waterbury Clock Co. The scrolling lacquered metal simulated porphyry case adorned with gilded Rococo mounts. The dial having an ivorine chapter ring marked with Arabic numbers, encircling a visibly gilt escapement. The movement striking a gong, marked on the back plate Waterbury Clock Co, Patented Sept 13 1888, above a paper label printed ‘LOUIS’ Manufactured by Waterbury Clock Co Westbury CONN USA’ to the case. 17” (43 cm) in height.
