Description
A 17th Century Style Carved Oak Full Tester Bed. The tester having moulded canopy rails adorned with leafy carved appliqués, and composed of twenty panels set in five rows. The lavishly carved head board ornamented with leafy strap-work, adorned with angel head corbels and a grimacing face mask to the centre, above two recessed arcaded panels framing quatrefoil appliques emblazoned with face masks. The frame’s uprights appliqued with caryatids. The four plain base panels with S-scroll carving to the muntins. The bulbous carved foot posts above a triple panel foot board, 79½” (202 cm) high, 61½” (156 cm) wide, 83¾” (213 cm) in length.
