Description
A 17th Century Joined Oak Wainscot Chair, attributed to Yorkshire circa 1675. The shaped cresting rail carved with stylised foliage and seed pods with voluted lobe terminals either side above elongated S-scroll ‘ear-pieces flanking the run-moulded uprights. The back panel emblazoned with a flowering plank stamped with punch-work. The silhouette cut down swept arms on repeat ball turned posts leading down to similarly turned legs united by peripheral stretchers. The plank seat furbished with a carpet cushion edged with looped fringing. 45¼” (115 cm) high, 23” (59 cm) wide.
