A James I & Later Inlaid Oak Caqueteuse Armchair. The rectangular back panel inlaid with a geometric design of intricately interlaced bands, with further inlay ornamenting the uprights surmounted by a run-moulded top rail,. The flat pad-end arm rests above enclosed sides leading down to a box form seat with a cupboard door to the rear gouge carved with initialed RS. The front board enriched with nulling, 45” (115 cm) high, 25” (64 cm) wide.
