Description
A 17th Century Carved Oak Court Cupboard of good rich colour and patination. The upper section having a canopy frieze carved with an undulating trail of fanned flower heads and having pendant ball finials either side below scrolled capitals, flanking a recessed cupboard. The cupboard doors enriched with carved daisywheels encircled by guilloche quatrefoils and flanked by further guilloche bands in a ropetwist border. The doors flanking a double arch topped centre panel carved with date 1687 above initials PHA. The base section with two further doors composed of horizontal upper panels over twin base panels in run moulded frames. Standing on a moulded base with bracket feet 55” (140 cm) high, 56” (142 cm) wide, 23” (60 cm) deep.
