An Impressive 17th Century Style Oak Full Tester Bed enriched with carving and inlaid with parquetry. The tester having a dentil moulded edge and composed of three rows of four panels; each centred by a parquetry star within a moulded roundel. The head board elaborately decorated with three arcaded panels to the top carved with guilloche bands and inlaid with interlaced geometric knots of chequered strapwork; the stiles flanked by pierced ‘ear-pieces’ carved in the form of mythical beast-headed S-scrolls, with twinned S-scroll carving and inlaid chequer bands adorning the framework, above a gadrooned candle-ledge, lunette rail and four plain base panels flanked by caryatids. The bulbous cup & cover foot posts headed by cherubic corbels and leading down to square block feet, 81” (206 cm) high, 63” (160 cm) wide, 85½” (218 cm) in length.
