Description
A 17th Century Oak Wainscot Chair. The crested top rail above a single panel back richly carved with a flowering plant; it’s scrolling stems coiled around two flamboyant flower-heads to the top, defined against a recessed pitted ground. The down swept arms on ball & fillet turned posts leading down to a planked edge-moulded seat above channel moulded rails and turned legs united by peripheral stretchers and terminating on ball feet, 41¾” (106 cm) high, 23¾” (60 cm) wide.
