A Fine 17th Century Boarded Oak Desk Box enriched with carving. The rectangular lid bordered by an ornamental incised & punch-worked band and having chip carved sides. The front board carved with fine scrolling plants issuing fruit and flowers defined against a pitted ground in a recessed panel with scalloped edging. Fitted with a later lock & key 9½” (24 cm) high, 24¾” (63 cm) wide, 14½” (37 cm) in depth.
