Description
A Set of Six 17th Century Carved Oak Dining Chairs, attributed to Derbyshire or Yorkshire,. The two crescent shaped back bars with scalloped upper edges, carved with voluted scrollwork centred by hanging tulip heads enriched with punchwork and adorned with turned pendant finials. The uprights with scroll carved lobe finials. The planked seat on raised frames standing on ball knopped legs united by high twin-baluster turned front stretchers and chamfered rails to the sides and rears, 43¼” (110 cm) high, the seats 17” (43 cm) high, 18” (46 cm) wide.
