A Fine 19th Century Painted Satinwood Collector’s Chest stamped EDWARDS & ROBERTS. The hinged rectangular lid painted with a scenic vignette depicting Cupid & Psyche in landscape, within a cross-banded border edged in stringing. The front and back enriched with scrolling husk-flowers and garlands flanking a central oval medallion painted with a winged cherubs edged in a string of pearls. The sides fitted with swing handles and standing on bracket feet 14½” (37 cm) high, 20½” (52 cm) wide, 12½” (32 cm) deep.
