Description
A 17th Century and Later Oak Metamorphic Table/Chair. The planked octagonal top having shaped rails to the underside pierced with holes each end for wooden peg hinges and securing dowels, and tilting up to form a broad chair back carved with a guilloche & strap-work arch. The arms acting a bearers for the table top, raised on cannon barrel turned posts above similarly turned legs united by peripheral stretchers, 32” (81 cm) high as a table, 59” (150 cm) as a chair, 41” (104 cm) wide.
