A Fine 17th Century Boarded Oak Desk Box. The top, sloped lid and side boards ornamented with incised bright-work perimeter bands enhanced with punchwork. The front board adorned with a moulded lozenge appliqué to the centre in-filled with bone, and flanked by applied strips of ripple moulding. The lid on iron butterfly hinges opening to reveal a bank of three drawers to the back with similar border decoration and ring handles. 11¾” (30 cm) high, 24¾” (63 cm) wide, 17” (43 cm) deep.
