An 18th Century Dutch Stained Walnut Side Chair, Circa 1750 [see El Mueble del Siglo XVIII Otros Paises Pub. Planeta-Agostini, page 48]. The pierced back splat richly carved with swirls of foliage and rococo scrolls surmounted by an asymmetric crest. The drop-in bow-front seat with rounded break-corners covered in wool-work depicting floral sprays of flowers & foliage on a yellow ground. The seat frame having a shaped apron piece to the front, raised on swept cabriole legs embellished with shell carving and united by a wavy H-form stretcher. 45½” (116 cm) in height, the seat 19” (48 cm) high, 20” (51 cm) wide.
