Description
A Fine Quality 19th Century French Silver-mounted Vanity Set in an ebony case inlaid with brass. The rectangular box having a hinged lid and fall-down front opening to reveal an extensively fitted magenta velvet lined interior. The upper section housing an array of fine cut glass bottles and jars with guilloche engraved silver lids centred by monogrammed roundels. The three drawers below having recessed, decoratively engraved brass handles: the top drawer accommodating various ivory handles sewing implements, above a selection of ivory handled brushes to the middle drawer and an unfitted drawer to the base with loose glove stretchers, shoe horn, comb etc. 8” (20 cm) high, 12½” (32 cm) wide, 9½” (24 cm) deep.
