The back having a caned oval panel in a richly carved frame of voluted scrolls with leafy flourishes with a pierced cresting rail centred by a cherub’s face-mask above folded wings. The barley-twist uprights divided by foliate carved knops and surmounted by finials. The scroll end arms with rosette carved terminals above an upholstered seat covered in machine tapestry and lion headed foliate scroll legs united by a high carved front rail and turned stretchers to the sides, 48” (122 cm) high, 22¾” (58 cm) wide.
