Description
A Small Georgian Style Mahogany Secretaire Bookcase. The glazed top section having a domed pediment centred by a relief carved urn festooned in chains of bell flowers above a blind fret carved frieze band and two glazed doors enclosing adjustable shelves sliding into side grooves. The shaped glazing bars carved as bell-flower garlands framing oval panes. The base section housing four cock-beaded drawers clad in diagonally grained veneers; the hinged fall-front top drawer enhanced by a stop fluted frieze with relief carved urn to the centre opening to reveal a green baize writing surface and a bank of drawers and pigeon holes to the back. Standing on bracket feet 92 (235 cm) high, 35” (89 cm) wide, 21” (53 cm) deep.
