Description
A Pair of Malines Alabaster Reliefs, Circa 1600 finely carved with figural allegories and enriched with gilt embellishments. One signed with initials for Jan or Hans Verbeke, depicting Dido receiving Aeneas and Cupid disguised as Ascanius. The other depicting the Resurrection of Jesus. 5” x 4” (13 cm x 10 cm). Set in gilt frames adorned with intricate strap-work decoration 9” x 8” (23 cm x 20 cm).
