A Fabulous 17th Century Carved Oak Caquetuese Armchair enriched with carving and having a fine colour & patination. The back having a domed broken-arch crest bordered with sprays of gadrooning flanking a ringed flower-head roundel. The back panel emblazoned with a quatrefoil designs centred by a flower head and edged with stepped moulding. The arms’ out-swept pad terminals pierced by baluster turned supporting posts leading to a planked seat above nulled rails standing on rising baluster turned legs united by peripheral stretchers; one stamped with initials IE to the top, 42” (107 cm) high, 26” (66 cm) wide.
