Description
Four English Joined Oak Side Chars attributed to Lancashire, late 17th/early 18th century. Each with a domed cresting rail above a panel back flanked by plain uprights with pyramidal finials. Two enriched with foliate carving centred by a tulip to the top rails above fielded back panels; one of which having a seat panel in a moulded frame, the other a boarded seat raised on turned legs united by a knopped front stretcher. One chair slightly taller in height carved with flowers and foliage defined against a recessed pitted ground to the top rail and back panel. Another enriched with scrolling stems of berries and foliage flanking a fanned flower head to the top and rosette to the back.
