A Charming 19th Century Tortoiseshell & Gilt Metal Mounted Scent Bottle Holder modelled in the form of a Pumpkin. The case composed of two halves with eight segment panels of tortoiseshell veneer in a gilt metal frame hinged at the base and surmounted by a swirled stalk forming the catch amidst scrolling tendrils and leaves. The sides parting to reveal four small cut glass scent bottles in pierced gilt metal holders set around a scrolled wire work centre. The internal walls lined in oyster satin edged with braid. The fruit raised on a central stem above three decorative supports embellished with strings of beads, 5 (14 cm) in height.
