Description
A Set of 19th Century Cromwellian Style Dining Chairs comprising of six side chairs and a carver. The rectangular backs and padded seats covered in tan leather adorned with brass studs to the borders and standing on finely turned legs; the front legs, high front stretchers and H-form under-stretchers with barleytwist turning entwined with an astragal moulded bine, with repeated ball turning to the rear legs and stretchers. The side chairs 34¾” (88 cm) high, the seats 19½” (50 cm) high, 19¼” (49 cm) wide, 16” (41 cm) deep. The carver having spiral turned arm rests with block terminal capped by roundel bosses above similarly turned uprights, 38½” (98 cm) high, 25” (64 cm) wide.
