Description
A 16th Century Westphalian Oak Stollentruhe or Coffer, bound in studded iron straps with decorative repoussé petal-edge roundels to the terminals. The twin plank lid edged in applied moulding enriched with a decorated scalloped rebate. The front having an iron hasp meeting the ornamental lock-plate. Standing on broad stile supports 38½” (98 cm) high, 66½” (168 cm) wide, 26” (66 cm) deep.
