Description
An Impressive 17th Century Style Oak Full Tester Bed incorporating period elements. The tester composed of twenty panels set in five rows; some carved with lozenge motifs and further foliate embellishments to others, set in a run moulded framework edged with cornice moulding. The canopy raised on a head border with two horizontal lunette carved panels above three lozenge carved panels, a gadrooned bulge rail and three unadorned base rails. The upright side supports ornamneted with carved caryatids rising from scroll topped pilasters swagged in drapery. The bold turned foot posts pegging into square block supports bridged by a triple panel foot board, 75” (191 cm) high, 61” (155 cm) wide.
