A Rare Late Elizabethan Joined Oak Coffer attributed to Gloucestershire, Circa 1580-1600. The triple panel lid with channel moulded framework on iron loop hinges. The front having a frieze rail of deep undulating strap-work incorporating two flower-head roundels above the palmate muntins. The three panels carved with cruciform designs centred by flower-heads above a bicuspid base rail enriched with a carved band of ribbon twist. The leafy carved stiles raised on sledge feet, 27½” (70 cm) high, 51” (130 cm) wide, 23¼” (59 cm) deep.
