A Set of Charles II Carved Walnut Dining Chairs including two Carvers. The tall caned back in pierced frames boldly carved with broken scrolls and wrythen rosettes either side, and flanked by barley-twist uprights surmounted by carved head finials. The cresting rails centred by spouting plumes of foliage. The seats now upholstered in a golden beige fabric woven with scrollwork enhanced by metallic gold thread motifs to the centre and edged in fringing. Each standing on scrolling legs united by a turned H-form stretcher below an elaborate pierced and carved front stretcher. 47” (120 cm) high, the seats 19½” (49 cm) high, 18” (46 cm) wide. The carvers with scroll-end arms on voluted supports 48” (122 cm) high, 22” (56 cm) wide (A/F).
