Description
A Fine Vintage Marquetry Cabinet with gilt bronze mounts. The deep cavetto moulded top clad in diagonally grained kingwood veneers edged with strings of ebony & boxwood and adorned with a Rococo scrolling mount festooned in flowers to the centre and scrolled sprays of acanthus to the corners. The doors inlaid with fluted urns cascading flowers enriched with penwork in panel bordered with chequer banding and foliate cast gilt beading. The amaranth framework having fine paterae adornments to the corners and crested face-mask escutcheons, The breakfront pilasters headed by gilt cherubic caryatids above inlaid pendant garlands of foliage standing on a plinth base with bracket feet, 51” (130 cm) high, 50” (127 cm) wide.
