A Large 19th Century Carved Giltwood Armchair in the Louis XVI Style. The upholstered rectangular back, padded elbow rests, sides and sprung seat covered in purple velvet edged with braid. The carved ribbon twist frame ornamented with sprays of acanthus to the arms and standing on stop fluted legs headed by paterae, 38½” (98 cm) high, 28” (72 cm) wide.
