Description
A 17th Century Style Full Tester Bed incorporating early elements. The tester composed of twelve bevelled panels set in three rows of four; the centre two emblazoned with armorial shields, the surrounding panels with lozenge motifs, surmounted by a carved cornice adorned with face mask appliqués. The head board having foliate S-scrolls above a frieze of nulling over three lozenge carved panels divided by caryatids, and four plain base panels with split spindles adorning the divides. The twin baluster turned foot posts above square block supports with applied carving, united by a twin panel foot board carved with tulip heads and whorls, 91” (231 cm) high, 55” (140 cm) wide, 82 (210 cm) in length.
