The exterior elaborately decorated to the front and sides with penwork & poker work figures, foliage and scrolls incorporating allegorical scenes defined against recessed mesh-punched back grounds. The ends fitted with wrought iron swing handles. The rectangular lid on iron strap hinges rising to reveal further decoration to the underside and punchwork embellishments to the interior. Standing on squat bun feet 14” (36 cm) high, 28” (71 cm) wide, 17” (43 cm) deep.
