A Set of Four Fine Quality Welsh/Shropshire Joined Elm Back-stools, Circa 1700 having a fine colour & patination. Each chair with a tall fielded panel back having an ogee arched top embellished with a carved fleur-de-lis motif to the domed scroll-ended cresting rail and flanked by turned tapering uprights. The fielded panel seats contained in frames featuring the Welsh/Shropshire three pegged mortice & tenon joint to the fronts and standing on turned legs united by a undulating scrolled front stretchers and H-form under-stretcher. 47¾” (12 cm) high, 19” (48 cm) wide.
