Description
A Pair of Decorative Black & Gilt Regency Style Painted Armchairs. The black ground frames enhanced with painted stringing, and having anthemion motifs to the top rails above a gilded, pierced oval back splat of interlinked loops centred by a small navette panel emblazoned with a swan. The scroll arms on turned posts leading down to caned seats fitted with buttoned swab cushions covered in gold striped brocade edged in piping. Standing on ring turned legs with out-swept feet 33½” (85 cm) high, 22” (56 cm) wide.
