Description
A 17th Century Carved Oak Coffer attributed to Exeter. The rectangular top having a moulded edge over nulled frieze rails with carved lion heads adorning the front tenon blocks, above an arcaded panel facade. The three front panels enriched with chip carved and guilloche carved bands, stylised foliage & trefoil fronds to the spandrels and scalloped edging embellished with punchwork to the arches. The muntins and stiles having reeded moulding leading down to a moulded base on low block feet, 26” (66 cm) high, 57” (145 cm) wide, 25½” (65 cm) deep.
