Description
An Unusual Mid 17th Century Joined Oak Back-stool. The low open back having a shaped cresting rail carved with foliage and attached to an arcaded back bar with scalloped edge beneath a guilloche chain of whorls, held between plain uprights surmounted by acorn finials. The seat now upholstered in attractive carpet fabric and raised on tall columnar legs with block feet on turned toes, united by peripheral stretchers, 37¾ ins (96 cm) high, 20½ ins (52 cm) wide.
