A Fine 17th Flemish Bronze Pestle & Mortar dated 1667. The pestle 9” (23 cm) in length. The mortar cast with inscription GERARDUS A LAPIDE ANNO 1667 around the rim above ringed sides and a decorative frieze band of undulating foliage, briar roses, pomegranates and grapes, 6” (15 cm) high, 6¾” (17 cm) in diameter.
