Description
A Fine Quality Walnut Veneered Collector’s Secrètaire Cabinet on on Stand in the William & Mary Style. The upper section having a moulded top above three bulge front frieze drawers over two decorative doors incorporating radial veneered oval panels and oyster veneered trefoils to corner quadrant panels divided by applied mouldings. The doors opening to reveal an elaborately fitted interior with mirrored back, a hidden compartment, pigeon holes, stepped stationary racks and shaped, stepped tiers of drawers clad in leather. The mid-section frieze housing pairs of small side drawers flanking a hinged fall-down section with faux drawers to the facade enclosing a fitted secrètaire. The base with three frieze drawers raised on six barley-twist legs united by wavy cut peripheral stretchers and terminating on ball feet. The oyster veneered drawer fronts bordered in cross-banding and fitted with brass drop handles, 69½” (176 cm) high. 46½” (118 cm) wide, 21” (53 cm) deep.
