Worked in silks on a fine woollen ground with initials SM 1812 within a ‘diamond’ shaped cartouche below a bouquet of ubiquitous red/white ‘rosa mundi’, rosebuds and flowers tied in ribbon, and having four blocked darns to each corner, cross darns with diamonds to each side, 14¾” x 13½” (37.5 cm x 34.5 cm) excluding the later frame.
