Description
A 19th Century Folksy Oak Box constructed from 17th century timbers with later embellishments. The nulled front appliquéd with the bust of a bearded gentleman wearing a cap, ruff collar & doublet; his open mouth forming the key hole (lacking key), flanked by relief carved face masks above scrollwork either sides. The sides, back and lid enhanced with decorative gouge carved bands, 6¾” (17 cm) high, 14” (36 cm) wide, 11” (28 cm) deep.
