A 19th Century French Ebonised and Enamelled Casket with inset brass label to the top inside edge engraved ALPH. GIROUX PARIS. The rectangular box inset with cushion moulded Limoges panels decorated with grisaille zoomorphic scrolls of acanthus and gilt tendrils, featuring a portrait medallion to the lid polychrome enamelled with profile bust of a 16th century lady. The interior lined in crimson velvet. The moulded framework raised on turned feet, 7” (18 cm) high, 8” (20 cm) wide, 6½” (21.5 cm) deep.
