An Antique Japanese Silver Tea Strainer. The round basket form strainer pierced with a fine trellis of engraved interwoven straps and decorated with four lappet panels to the sides embellished with cast silver & gilt sprays of blossom and kites displayed against pitted reserves. The circular top with four cartouche panels of flowering lotus, orchids, peonies and chrysanthemums; the divides engraved with trelliswork and centred by a gilt rosette with ring handle, 4” (10 cm) diameter, 1” (4 cm) high.
