A Fine 17th Century Carved Oak Coffer of rich colour and patination. The twin plank lid with cleated ends and moulded front above an elaborately carved facade with three moulded panels ornamented with arched guilloche bands framing central flower heads, further guilloche bands of linked daisy wheels adorning the muntin and stiles, interlaced strapwork to the frieze rail and a nulled base rail. The plain panel sides between run moulded rails. Standing on stile supports with voluted S-scroll spandrels, 26½” (67 cm) high, 53” (135 cm) wide, 21” (53 cm) deep.
