A Napoleon III Style Boulle-work Clock Set. The clock movement stamped AD Mougin Deux Medailles and striking a gong. The Rococo style case clad in red ‘tortoiseshell’ veneer enriched with scrolling foliate tendrils of brass inlay enhanced with engraved details and having ornamental gilt bronze mounts incorporating a glazed pendulum aperture to the base and a swirl of crested leaves surmounting the top. The dial signed Rouen, encircled by a segmented border framing the Roman numeral hour markers and Arabic five minute division markers. The accompanying candelabra each having a tortoiseshell veneered square baluster stem issuing four swirling foliate candle branches, 18½” (47 cm) high.
