An 18th Century Japanned Longcase Clock with eight day movement. The lacquered case enriched with gilt chinoiserie decoration on a black ground. The 11¾” (30 cm) wide brass dial having a bossed roundel to the arch flanked by gilt dolphin mounts, above a silvered chapter ring framing a matted centre with seconds subsidiary and engraved calendar aperture. The domed hood surmounted by spired brass finials to the corners above integral side columns. 82½” (209 cm) in height.*
