A Fabulous 18th Century Tavern Clock by Jno Wright of Dorking. The large white wooden dial painted in black with Roman numeral hour counters within an outer ring of minute divisions marked at each five minute interval with Arabic numerals. The gilt hands intricately pierced with ornamentation. The black lacquered case finely decorated with a hand coloured transfer print to the door depicting Darby & Joan sat outside a country inn, Joan smoking a pipe, with a dog at their feet, and enriched with intricate gilt trelliswork and scrolling embellishments” (150 cm) in length, 28¾” (73 cm) in diameter.
