A Late 17th Century William & Mary Side Chair. The D-ended cane-work back panel in a moulded frame surmounted by a pierced cresting rail carved with voluted scrolls above turned uprights to the sides leading down to the caned seat. The baluster turned legs united by high, baluster & block stretchers to the front and rear, with a H-form under-stretchers, terminating on carved briganza feet, 48½” (123 cm) high, the seat 19” (48 cm) high, 18” (46 cm) wide, 15” (38 cm) deep.
