A Mid 17th Century Joined Oak Box Stool. The moulded lid on wire hinges with an iron hasp and lock-plate to the front. The sides & front boards carved with a foliate S-scroll motif defined against sunken ground and embellished with punch-work. The ball and reel turned legs united by peripheral stretchers and terminating on turned feet, 16½ in (42 cm) high, 15¾ in (40 cm) wide, 14 in (35 cm) deep.
