A Small Late 19th Century Mahogany Lady’s Work Table with slide-up fire screen to the back. The rectangular screen panel inset with silk moiré damask to the front and sculpted velour to the back, surmounted by a small cast loop handle above an inlaid fan motif. The sweeping apron housing a cock-beaded brushing slide and drawer to the front, a candle slide above faux drawer to one side, with corresponding dummy front facade to the other, raised on square cabriole legs tapering down to small wooden castors, and united by a shaped under-shelf, 29” (74 cm) high, 20½” (52 cm) wide, 15” (38 cm) deep.*
